Why ExpressVote benefits from a disposable stylus

The ES&S ExpressVote is a touch-screen ballot marking device (BMD) that allows voters to make their selections on a screen before printing a paper ballot for tabulation. It is one of the most widely deployed BMDs in the United States, used as both a primary voting method and as an ADA-accessible option at polling places.

Because every voter in a precinct may interact with the ExpressVote's touchscreen, a disposable stylus ensures each person has their own clean tool to make selections. It also protects the screen from scratches caused by fingernails, rings, or improper stylus tips.

Note: FreeStylus is compatible with the standard ES&S ExpressVote. It is not compatible with the ExpressVote XL, which uses a different touchscreen technology.
